Social Impact Partners (SIP) is pleased to announce its investment of HKD 1 million in Cancer Support Society (CSS), a Hong Kong-based social enterprise dedicated to improving oral health care access for cancer patients and individuals with special needs. This funding will support CSS in establishing a barrier-free dental clinic, expanding services, and strengthening operational capacity to serve under-served communities.

Founded in 2022 by Dr. Tom Ho and Mark Cheung, CSS was born from the urgent need to address the oral health challenges faced by head and neck cancer survivors, many of whom encounter difficulties receiving timely dental care in traditional clinics. CSS provides affordable dental treatment, oral hygiene education, and emotional support to individuals whose health and quality of life are compromised by limited access to appropriate dental services.
“Every cancer patient deserves dignified, timely dental care—before, during, and after treatment,” said Mark. “With SIP’s support, we can build a safe, inclusive space for these patients, reduce preventable oral complications, and enhance their quality of life.”
CSS has already reached over 200 individuals through its pilot programs, which include dental treatment sessions, oral health workshops, and school outreach. Its team of dentists, social workers, and oral health educators delivers one-stop dental and rehabilitation services tailored to the unique needs of patients with disabilities and cancer survivors.
The new funding from SIP will be used to fit out a fully accessible dental clinic, procure specialized equipment (including wheelchair-accessible treatment chairs), and grow CSS’s educational and outreach initiatives. The new clinic is also co-funded by the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Jing Yuan Charity Foundation, and The Koo's Giving Charitable Foundation. SIP will further assist CSS in marketing, partnership development, and building investment readiness for future growth.
“Cancer Support Society represents the kind of innovative, mission-driven social enterprise that SIP is committed to supporting,” said Ms. Josephine Price, Chair of SIP. “By combining professional expertise with deep community insight, CSS is addressing a critical service gap in Hong Kong’s healthcare landscape. This investment helps build sustainable capacity and demonstrates how social innovation can advance health equity.”
CSS’s mission is deeply aligned with SIP’s commitment to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, focusing on improving lives through accessible and inclusive healthcare solutions.
This investment followed a rigorous due diligence process led by SIP’s strategic pro-bono partners, including legal review by Milbank, financial assessment by Grant Thornton, and management evaluation by ALS International. SIP will continue to provide post-investment support to help CSS strengthen its operations and build toward long-term sustainability.
