The number of students with special educational needs in Hong Kong has risen steadily in recent years, making individualized support for every student a pressing concern across the education sector. To strengthen mainstream schools' capacity to support SEN students, the Education Bureau has actively promoted policies including the Whole School Approach and Learning Support Grant. The system generates personalized analytical reports, enabling teachers to track SEN students' learning performance closely, identify interests and strengths early, and establish suitable learning goals and future pathways. Through data insights, teachers recommend appropriate activities and support services more effectively.

SNAILDY Student App - Ludy: Designed specifically for SEN students, this app provides diverse self-directed learning tools. Interactive resources like "Ludy Adventure" allow students to master subjects including Chinese, English, and Mathematics at their own pace, aligned with Education Bureau Curriculum Guides. Learning results record instantly in the system, enabling schools and parents to monitor progress and adjust strategies promptly to close learning gaps.

SNAILDY Parent App: Parents can check their child's support arrangements and learning progress anytime, including Classroom support measures, adaptation measures, activity records, and attendance. Parents also access parenting resources and positive education materials to strengthen home-school collaboration.

SNAILDY Instructor App: Internal instructors efficiently handle attendance, classroom observations, student conditions, and support progress tracking. Data synchronize to the central system in real time, minimizing omissions. Robust Privacy Safeguards Creating Multi-Stakeholder Value

The platform has earned multiple data security recognitions, including the Privacy-Friendly Awards 2025 Gold Award from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, plus consecutive commendations in the BugHunting Campaign 2024 and 2025 jointly organized by the Hong Kong Police Force's Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) and Cyberbay. After comprehensive security testing by cybersecurity experts, the Special & Gifted Centralized Database AI System achieved the highest security rating with no potential vulnerabilities detected, earning recognition from the Hong Kong Police Force.​

All security measures, monitoring systems, and evaluation procedures fully protect data belonging to schools, teachers, parents, and students. The platform strictly complies with Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) and the six data protection principles established by the Privacy Commissioner, ensuring rigorous standards throughout data collection, storage, use, and transmission to safeguard all stakeholders' information security.​

Data-Proven Student Benefits and Tangible Educational Impact

According to Tung Wah College's evaluation, Snaildy's Snaildiverse platform delivers substantial measurable benefits to schools, teachers, and students. The latest assessment reveals a Social Return on Investment (SROI) ratio of 1:4.63, meaning every dollar invested generates HK$4.63 in educational and social value.​

Teachers save approximately 40% to 60% of time previously spent on SEN-related documentation and reporting. This efficiency gain enables frontline educators to concentrate on individualized support and interaction while improving cross-professional and parent-teacher communication, resulting in comprehensive learning and growth records for students.​

Long-term student benefits prove equally significant—reduced learning difficulties in reading and writing, enhanced gross and fine motor skills, and overall improvements in learning quality and quality of life.
